Welcome.
Falcon Primary school opened in late January 1990, and is situated 800m from the ocean at Avalon Bay.
The school is named after the Falcon locality which extends from the Novara area in the north to Avalon in the south. According to the Lands Department the locality was named after Falcon Bay (originally known as Miami Bay and Winjan Bay). The alteration to Falcon Bay came about after the Silver Medal performance of the Western Australian Dragon class yacht Falcon (skippered by Rolly Tasker) in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
The school logo features a yacht in full sail. The school colours of jade and royal blue reflect the changing colours of the ocean.
Adjacent Port Bouvard development offers a unique landscape and marine environment which is accessible to the school. Environmental pursuits are more and more becoming part of the Falcon educational culture. Classes have participated in beach surveys, dune restoration and tree planting regularly.
Falcon is classified as a Level 5 school with an enrolment of approximately 500, inclusive of Kindergarten to Year 7. Classrooms are open design...central wet areas and sliding partitions. There are four main teaching blocks, two transportable rooms for ECE, a special services block (Library, Art & Music rooms) and the Administration block. In general facilities for staff and students are modern and well resourced.
